A dairy with a difference

Kulavalli Community Dairy is a social enterprise located near the village of Kulavalli in northern Karnataka, India. We aim to produce top quality, pure, fresh milk for sale in the area, with all proceeds being donated to NGO partners engaged in child welfare activities.

Welfare is paramount

Our herd of 200 cows will produce over 3000 litres of milk per day once the farm is fully operational. Working with our advisor from the University of Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) Vet School in the UK, we strive to make our cows as comfortable, healthy and happy as they can be, and the milk as pure, fresh and nutritious as possible.

A community project

Over 70% of rural households in India rely on livestock rearing. The farm will work with local cattle owners to help provide them with veterinary and nutritional support for their cows, to help improve animal health, maximise milk production and ultimately support the livelihoods of people in the Kulavalli Community.

Supporting education

Amongst India's under-10s, 41% are poor. Malnutrition, lack of education, sanitation and housing are the main causes of child poverty. Through our NGO partners we will support programmes for child poverty reduction, sustainable education and innovative ways to improve young people's lives.
